This individual must exercise discretion, judgment, and tact in dealing with both external and internal contacts; identify priorities and independently anticipate and facilitate the timely flow and completion of research and administrative projects. Duties include providing research and administrative support to the President of SAFE. This includes some scheduling responsibilities, research tasks, communicating key events and sharing important information with other SAFE employees as well as other research and administrative duties as instructed by the President. The Assistant will also be responsible for some day-to-day administrative support for office operations and will be expected to schedule staff meetings, make and process travel arrangements, maintain files, coordinate external communications, manage office supplies, answer the main phone line, and other general office responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

Qualified candidates will possess good research, oral and writing skills, organizational fortitude, have a general understanding of the federal legislative process and a willingness to pitch in at all levels. Strong preference will be given to those candidates who have experience with a Congressional office.

Highly competitive salary and benefits offered.

Interested candidates should send a resume and a cover letter to jnerpel@secureenergy.org.

Interns

SAFE is looking for two (2) highly-qualified interns to assist with the organization's mission of reducing America's dependence on oil. Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks, both substantive and administrative, in support of the President and the Senior Analyst for Policy and Strategy. These positions can be paid or for credit based on the preference of the successful applicant.

Candidates should have an interest in energy, national security, economics, and/or transportation issues. Strong research, writing and oral communication skills are required. A background in political science/government, international affairs, communications, or economics is preferred but not required.

To apply, send an email to info@secureenergy.org with "Internship" in the subject line and attach your resume as a Word or PDF document. SAFE will only contact those applicants called for an interview. Early submission is highly recommended, as SAFE seeks to fill these positions as soon as possible."
